Jade Jenise Dixon’s latest film, “Yellow Inside,” is a tour de force, captivating audiences with its intricate plot and compelling characters. From the moment I saw the trailer, I was hooked. This short 15-minute film didn’t just meet my expectations; it surpassed them, delivering a mystery that grabs hold from the beginning and never lets go.
At the heart of the story are two strong female characters whose relationship is as intriguing as it is complex. This female-driven narrative is a testament to Jade’s exceptional ability to weave stories that resonate on multiple levels. Her director, writer, and producer skills shine through in every frame, making it clear why this film was chosen for the LA Shorts International Film Festival, which is an Oscar-qualifying film festival.

Her journey to this point is as impressive as her work on the screen. As a participant in Disney’s directing program, Jade honed her craft, and her talent was recognized with an Emmy nomination in 2022 for her work on the popular TV show “Raven’s Home.” Now, she’s directing Season 2 of the gripping urban drama “Kold X Windy” and has been selected by the Directors Guild of America’s “Women’s Steering Committee Squad Mentorship” for 2023-2024 to advance her career.
Her latest film is a visual treat and an emotional roller-coaster that delves deep into the complexities of love and mystery. The opening and closing scenes are beautifully framed, showcasing Jade’s eye for gorgeous cinematography. The love scenes are tenderly shot, adding a layer of intimacy rarely seen on screen. One of my favorite elements is the cool montage of memories and the unique camera angles during the pivotal meeting of the two main characters.
Jade Jenise Dixon is a brave and beautiful talent with a unique voice that commands attention. Her film will move your heart and make you reflect on the true meaning of love.
