Right now, live with Bar-Sun Jones: AKA Young Dirty Bastard, who is the Son of the late Hip Hop Music Legend: Russell Jones: AKA OL’ Dirty Bastard or ODB, for a Documentary Film tribute to “OL’ Dirty Bastard: A Tale of Two Dirtys” at The Grammy Museum at LA Live. Young Dirty in the below photo:
With members of the Wu-Tang Clan and Mariah Carey who are in this fascinating film!

OL’ Dirty Bastard or ODB’s real name is Russell Jones: and his son’s name is Bar-Sun Jones: AKA Young Dirty Bastard:

Many of the Jones family were there, along with NBA Champion with the LA Lakers, and one of the “3 Killer Bs” Matt Barnes, who we just interviewed 2 weeks ago at the HollyShorts Film Festival, since he was working on a sports panel with his Lakers teammate: NBA All-Star and World Champion with the LA Lakers: Meta World Peace! I told Matt Jokingly I wish he was still with the Lakers to help them out, he kind of agreed, and said it was great working with Meta at the Film Festival. He is in the below photo on the red carpet:

There was an invite only red-carpet, and VIP Premiere screening of Ol’ Dirty Bastard: A Tale of Two Dirtys, followed by a panel discussion and Q & A with the family, Producers and Directors after the film, and then a fun After-Party Reception on the 5th floor deck of the Grammy Museum at the Ray Charles Terrace, at LA Live: that had an amazing rooftop 360 degree view of most of Los Angeles: with live music with a DJ on stage:

Ol’ Dirty Bastard: A Tale of Two Dirtys—which made its world premiere to acclaim June 13 at the American Black Film Festival, will debut on the A&E Network, August 25 at 9 p.m.— is a provocative and tumultuous, behind-the-scenes look at icon Ol’ Dirty Bastard aka ODB—who altered the world of hip-hop forever before his life ended tragically young—as never seen before through the eyes of family, friends and other ground-breaking artists who knew him best, including members of the Wu-Tang Clan and Mariah Carey! It is a definitive, feature-length documentary: Rated TV-14 DL // Running Time: 86 Minutes. • On the red carpet I had the pleasure to interview Nicole and Messiah (in the above photo), and they told me that after Ol’ Dirty Bastard died, his son Bar-Sun Jones was renamed Young Dirty Bastard, at about the age of 15 years old, and also has a good singing and acting career right now- however Young Dirty told me “it was the Universe that gave him that name.”

They told me that the turning point in his career when Ol’Dirty Bastard knew he made it to the big time: is when he sold out Madison Square Garden for his concert with Mariah Carey, for the Fantasy Album.

Messiah’s production company : Four Screens Production, is going to use me on a documentary on former heavyweight champion Smokin’ Joe Frazier, since I have meet Joe a few times in my life, and I have a perspective on his great career.

This film is Produced by Four Screens & Pulse Films, 1st Official Documentary in Association With the ODB Estate; Directed By Award-Winning Director Sam Pollard & Jason Pollard.Going beyond the salacious headlines to explore the real human being behind the façade, Ol’ Dirty Bastard: A Tale of Two Dirtys was produced by Four Screens, which manages the ODB estate, and Pulse Films (AppleTV+’s Beastie Boys Story, Beyonce’s Lemonade, Katy Perry’s Part of Me) and The film was co-directed by Emmy and Peabody Award-winning director Sam Pollard (MLK/FBI, Black Art: In the Absence of Light), alongside his son Jason Pollard (Get Me Roger Stone, Bitchin’ the Sound and Fury of Rick James).

Ol’ Dirty Bastard: A Tale of Two Dirtys provides an intimate portrait of ODB and delves into the legacy of the Grammy-nominated, platinum recording artist who co-founded the Wu-Tang Clan, which first rose to mainstream prominence with their 1993 debut album, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), now considered one of the greatest hip-hop groups of all time. With a raw style, ODB’s “outrageous talent” made him the Wu-Tang Clan’s wildest icon and most inventive performer, quickly leading him to pursue a solo career just two years later—hitting the charts with such albums as 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version and N***a Please—and to work with such musicians such as Mariah CareyKelisPrasMya and Wyclef Jean.

Born Russell Jones in 1968 in the projects of Brooklyn, NY, ODB developed a unique persona and rhyme style that set him apart from his contemporaries at an early age. With a huge heart, ODB also led a self-sabotaging life lived dangerously. But in his short 35 years and long after his passing, ODB has had a momentous influence on an entire generation of performers and fans, leaving a lasting impact on music and culture. Featuring never-before-seen vintage video and photos from a personal archive shot by his wife, Icelene Jones, and with exclusive access to his closest friends and family, this culture-defining film humanizes ODB as a man, a father, a husband and a friend. From his childhood, through his rise from anonymity to global stardom, until his untimely passing from a drug overdose in 2004, the film charts his meteoric rise and heart-breaking fall, interweaving a modern narrative with a look back at his trauma-filled childhood to examine how it influenced the man and artist. A celebration of his artistry and legacy, the documentary is also an unflinching look at the complexities of his life including addiction, adultery, fame, mental illness, sudden wealth, race, criminal justice and e media’s complicity in watching our heroes fall.

This is the definitive documentary on Wu-Tang Clan founding member Ol’ Dirty Bastard. The documentary explores how Russell Tyrone Jones created Ol’ Dirty Bastard, a Hip Hop alter ego superhero that would ultimately consume him.
