It was a very special night in Beverly Hills , partying with some of the legends of showbiz , movies, TV, and music. Our Entertainment Today news reporters Margie Rey , and Melanie Murphy had the privilege to talk to many stars at The Beverly Wilshire Hotel , at an awards dinner gala and show for AARP. Coming up will be interviews , and some interesting stories:
In The feature photo is Jeff Bridges – an Academy Award-winning actor known for his starring roles in such films as ‘The Last Picture Show,’ ‘The Big Lebowski’ and ‘Crazy Heart.’ He comes from a prominent acting family and appeared on the television series Sea Hunt, with his father, Lloyd Bridges and brother, Beau Bridges . Jeff Bridges won the AARP Best Supporting Actor Award for “Hell or High Water” .
Kenny Loggins is a singer-songwriter and guitarist. His early songwriting compositions were recorded with the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band in 1970, which led to seven albums, performing as the group Loggins and Messina from 1972 to 1977 .
Brian McKnight is an American R&B singer-songwriter, arranger, producer, and musician. He is a multi-instrumentalist who plays eight instruments including piano, guitar, bass guitar, percussion, trombone, tuba, flugelhorn and trumpet. McKnight is most recognized for his strong falsetto and belting range. McKnight’s work has earned him 16 Grammy Awards Nominations, though he has never won. He is third only to Morten Lindberg and Snoop Dogg for the record of most Grammy nominations without a win. Melanie had a very interesting experience that night with Brian and Justin Timberlake.
Richard Treat Williams is a Golden Globe and Emmy award-nominated American actor, who told us about living on his farm in Vermont, and flying planes. In the back of the showroom Denzel Washington shook our reporters hands, and Margie said he had soft hands. He said it was because he was a boxer and always had sweaty hands from being in the gloves. He was there to present an award also:
A major hero was present this night that we had the chance to talk to : Chesley Burnett “Sully” Sullenberger III (born 1951), an American retired airline captain celebrated for the January 15, 2009 water landing of US Airways Flight 1549 in the Hudson River off Manhattan after the plane was disabled by striking a flock of Canada geese immediately after takeoff; all 155 people aboard survived.
