Timothy Woodward Jr’s violent romantic vision builds the perfect storm for Luke Hemsworth’s Big Screen Western Debut. Story and Photos by Michael Danon .
Woodward and his long time cinematographer Pablo Diaz revived the old western tale of Bill Hickock with explosive effects, tight editing and heart-rendering performances from their cast. The cast was headed by Luke Hemsworth and included the likes of Hollywood royalty such as Bruce Dern. Hemsworth had sizzling onscreen chemistry with the other HBO heavyweight Cameron Richardson and showed he has the acting chops to play a deeper, more modern type of Byronic hero.
Woodward’s cast and crew filed in to the Vista Theater Thursday night to celebrate all the blood, sweat, and tears put in to the filming of “Hickock.” While waiting together to get in, you really saw the cast act as a family and it showed why there was such striking chemistry on screen between all the actors and their experienced crew. Right before the movie premiered, Woodward gave his extended new family a look at his next movie “In the Absence of Good Men.” It looks like Woodward is just starting his dive into the twisted, modern hero genre as his next vision is about the downfall of notorious gangster Al Capone.
Serving as Executive producers were Benjamin Gerry, Strathford Hamilton, and J.D. Seraphin. The movie was produced by Cinedigm productions and hits theaters July 7, 2017.
