Margot Robbie, Allison Janney, & Sam Rockwell at Santa Barbara International Film Festival
The Santa Barbara International Film Festival continues strong as Oscar® nominated actresses Margot Robbie and Allison Janney (I, TONYA) graced our presence last evening accepting the Outstanding Performers of the Year Award sponsored by Belvedere and Oscar® nominee Sam Rockwell (THREE BILLBOARDS OUTSIDE EBBING MISSOURI) received the American Riviera Award Thursday night sponsored by UGG.
Scott Feinberg, awards columnist at The Hollywood Reporter moderated the lively discussion with Robbie and Janney, while director of I, TONYA, Craig Gillespie presented the award with pride. Krista Smith, Executive West Coast Editor of Vanity Fair. Smith, who was absolutely thrilled to be part of the evening, moderated Rockwell’s evening while good friend and director Clark Gregg presented him with the American Riviera Award for his incredible work in THREE BILLBOARDS OUTSIDE EBBING MISSOURI with a hilarious and heartfelt speech. Recounting their first project, Rockwell “who somehow, even in that cold drafty theater, managed to be very impressive,” elicited chuckles from the audience. Gregg directed Rockwell in CHOKE in 2009. ” Sam has a remarkable gift, for making even the sketchiest, oddest, most broken characters, someone you can relate to.”
