Neon’s indie love story Anora emerged the big winner with five Oscars at the 97th Academy Awards at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. The low-budget $6 million movie won Best Picture and Best Actress in a Leading Role (Mikey Madison, who won her first Oscar), as well as Best Director, Best Film Editing and Best Original Screenplay — all to Sean Baker.

Since Baker also co-produced the film, he becomes the second person to win four Oscars in one ceremony, joining Walt Disney, who accomplished the feat at the 26th Oscars that honored films released in 1953. Disney, however, won for four different films, while Baker is the first person to win four Oscars for the same film.

A24’s The Brutalist won three Oscars, including Best Actor in a Leading Role (Adrien Brody winning his second Oscar), Best Original Score and Best Cinematography.

Our TV Show Host: Margie Rey interviewed Adrien Brody. Adrien gave a very emotional Oscar acceptance speech that the show producers thought was running too long, so they started to play the “Walk off the Stage” music, but Adrien said: Stop the music I would like to say a few more things, and I will make it brief. He continued his speech, and then again they thought it was too long- so they played that music again- so then Adrien finished up.

Our TV Show Host: Margie Rey was so lucky enough to get a big high-5 from Adrien Brody, that you can see on this show!

First-time Oscars host Conan O’Brien joked that Netflix led all nominees with “18 price hikes,” with the streamer winning three Oscars, including two for Emilia Perez, with Zoe Saldaña for Best Actress in a Supporting Role (the first for an actor from the Dominican Republic) and “El Mal” for Best Original Song, and The Only Girl in the Orchestra winning for Best Documentary Short Film.

Kieran Culkin won Best Actor in a Supporting Role in Searchlight Pictures’ A Real Pain, which was written and directed by co-star Jesse Eisenberg, who we interviewed on this show: The Substance star: Demi Moore was considered the front-runner for the Oscar Best Actress Award since she just won the Golden Globe, Critics Choice, and SAG Awards Trophies, but Anora’s Mikey Madison prevailed. The crowd seemed somewhat surprised, but everyone got on their feet to celebrate Madison, including Demi Moore.

Ever the consummate professional, Moore smiled and clapped for the 25-year-old actress. As Madison made her way to the stage, Moore was seen hugging co-star Margaret Qualley after a long and largely successful awards season.

We were both lucky enough to meet Demi Moore, and she was so kind to take the time to pose for photos with the both of us!

You can see Entertainment Today’s TV Producer: Steve Taylor posing on the left for a photo with Best Actress Oscar Nominee: Demi Moore in the below photo: Entertainment Today’s TV Show Host: Margie Rey is also on the left of the below photo, posing for a photo with Best Actress Oscar Nominee: Demi Moore:

Demi looked really great- even better than when I meet her a long time ago at the Golden Globe Awards, along with Oscar Winner Tom Cruise, as you can compare Demi in the older photo below – to the current photos above!  Below photo of Entertainment Today TV Producer: Steve Taylor (center) with Tom Cruise(right), and Demi Moore(left):We also were both able to meet and pose for photos with last year’s Best Actress Oscar Winner: Michelle Yeoh:

Conclave was nominated for 8 Academy Awards, including a Best Actor Nomination for Ralph Fiennes- who gave an amazing lead acting performance! The Best Actor Nominee: Ralph Fiennes- for Conclave is the 3rd from the left in the below photo: On this show you can see Ralph’s acceptance speech for a special award from the 20th Los Angeles Italia Film, Fashion and Art Fest, that we attended thanks to a invitation from one of our Entertainment News TV show hosts: Bernie Hiller– who also happens to be the Host of this fine Film Festival. Bernie in the blue suit is the second from the right in the below photo, and on the extreme right in the above photo:  Bernie invited me to the Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, for a special screening of the movie Conclave with some of the cast- including: Ralph Fiennes, Director Edward Berger, Q & A and Awards Ceremony with Sergio Castellitto, tributes to Isabella Rossellini, Sleiter, Conclave, and Sergio Castellitto. Below photo is from the screen in the Chinese Theater for the 20th Los Angeles Italia Film, Fashion and Art Fest: Universal Pictures won two Oscars for Wicked (Best Production Design, Best Costume Design), and Best Adapted Screenplay for Focus Features’ Conclave.

Warner Bros. won two Oscars for Dune: Part Two, including Best Sound and Best Visual Effects.

Best International Feature Film went to Brazil’s I’m Still Here, distributed by Sony Pictures.

The surprise of the night was an unannounced Mick Jagger appearing on stage to present Best Original Song.

Brody immediately finds Chalamet after win

Chalamet did not end up a winner, but he spent a lot of time with Adrien Brody after his Best Actor acceptance speech. As The Brutalist star exited the stage, he went right up to Chalamet. The two have been neck and neck all awards season, and the respect between the actors was evident. Brody was emotional as he talked with Chalamet, and they embraced multiple times.

Eventually, all Best Actor nominees — Brody, Chalamet, Colman Domingo, Ralph Fiennes and Sebastian Stan — came together for a photo.

VANITY FAIR OSCAR PARTY 2025:

Guests began to arrive at 3:30 PM in front of the historic former Beverly Hills Post Office Building on Santa Monica Boulevard, this year they entered through a pair of ‘speakeasy’ doors, passing through a tunnel lined with shimmering silver drapery and past the Touch Up Bar by L’Oréal Paris, guests emerged onto the “red” carpet which fills the entire frontage of the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts.  This year the photo backdrop featured 10 feet high VANITY FAIR silver lettering floating in front of a striped gradient pastel tone backdrop [yellow, orange & red].  Guests made their way across the 130-foot gold and silver striped carpet where they stopped to do interviews, video, and ended on the rondells to the stills photographers.

At 9 p.m. PT, Tan France, Paige DeSorbo and Hannah Berner of the Giggly Squad podcast, and Francesca Scorsese hosted Vanity Fair’s red carpet livestream, which featured celebrity interviews, real-time fashion commentary, and analysis of the 2025 Oscars, along with a makeup Touch Up Bar, courtesy of L’Oréal Paris. The livestream was presented by Radiesse and Verizon, with the addition of a new Arrival Camera, powered by Verizon.

PARTY ENTRANCE: At the end of the gold carpeted passage, guests were directed through a serpentine hall of mirrors into the main party space.

MAIN PARTY SPACE: Emerging from the mirrored entry tunnel, dinner guests arrived into a sunken upholstered living room, reminiscent of certain 1960s Hollywood Party homes. The guests lounged on soft velvet seating in and around the 20’x32’ sunken space and watched the opening of the Academy Awards broadcast on a 15 foot-wide LED screen built into one of the living room walls. Overhead a five foot-long diameter custom built disco ball anchored the center of the sunken pit, awaiting the later night festivities.

At the back end of the living room, the space opened up into a 5,000 square foot bar area, featuring a 50 foot-long oval bar at its center, 25 foot-high scalloped marigold yellow [gold] curtains along one wall, and a glass wall of equal height on the opposite side, centered on a stunning view of Beverly Hills City Hall, which was especially illuminated for the occasion in warm colors and sweeping spotlights.

Adjacent to the main party space was an exclusive beauty lounge, presented by L’Oréal Paris.

DINING ROOM: At the midpoint of the awards ceremony, guests were directed into the dining room which was decorated in warm yellow and peach tones on the walls, offset by illuminated curved silver pilasters.  Seven(7) large flat screen TVs were built into the walls to broadcast the show.  The outside perimeter of the room was lined with custom made banquettes upholstered in a zebra stripe fabric by Pierre Frey and each table center featured a custom made lamp with glowing VANITY FAIR OSCAR PARTY lettering, surrounded by vases of flowers in the same soft tones as the walls.

CLUB VF: Following the conclusion of the awards, the dining room was transformed into an intimate danceteria, presented by Tequila Don Julio, where DJ’s Mr. Furbzz, DJ Ruckus & DJ Politik spun records while a four inch diameter disco ball overhead spun reflections around the room as the guests danced late into the night.  A Don Julio 1942 bar made from faceted mirrors flanked the space opposite the DJ booth.

ALVARO COLOM VIDEO STUDIO: Acclaimed photographer and videographer Alvaro Colom returned to the Vanity Fair Oscar Party to capture winners and notable guests in a custom-built video studio inside the party. Guests stepped into a black-and-white world that felt like an iconic Hollywood movie set. Against a timeless, cinematic setting, the celebrity appears in full color, radiating vibrancy and modernity. The contrast captured the magic of Hollywood’s golden age while highlighting the star’s individuality, as if they’re bringing life and color into the classic world around.

Guests could enjoy Espresso Martinis, splits of Moët & Chandon & Vivreau water in the Lounge adjacent to the Video Studio.

OUTDOOR COURTYARD: An elevated central courtyard was built on a platform extending from the main party space to Beverly Hills City Hall. Rows of illuminated palm trees lined the courtyard which was anchored at the City Hall end by a custom three-oven pizza bar by famed chef  Evan Funke, who personally prepared and served five different styles of his renowned pizza late into the evening. In addition there was a full bar available for guests and the Funke Gelato cart.

DEPARTURE LOUNGE: Upon exiting the party, guests were escorted by the concierge team to the Departure Lounge.

Guests were also offered Hydration by Vivreau in custom Vanity Fair Bottles and Gnarwhal Coffee & Donuts as they departed. An Uber concierge desk was also available.
