ONE LESS GOD AWARDED THE GRAND JURY AWARD AND THE INDUSTRY CHOICE AWARD AT THE 2017 DANCES WITH FILMS
The Australian film ONE LESS GOD was awarded both the Grand Jury Award and the Industry Choice Award at Sunday night’s awards ceremony for Dances With Films. Produced by Joel Worthington, Maren Smith and Joel Hagen, and co-produced by Nelson Lay for New Realm Films, ONE LESS GOD is an ensemble film inspired by the 2008 terrorist attack on Mumbai. The film recounts the events from the points of view of a group of hostages, as well as from the terrorists. The chilling and timely story is beautifully shot, and captures the humanity and the terror of what’s been called “India’s 9/11”.

– I’m so happy and honored by One Less God being awarded both the Grand Jury Award and the Industry Choice Award, says writer/director Lliam Worthington (Below with cast). The film was 8 years in the making, and it’s even timelier now. I set out to create a cinematic experience that would show the human heart of the tragedy beyond the news cycles, and to inspire genuine movement towards greater humanism and compassion. I look forward to bringing this film to audiences around the world.
The juried narrative competition at the 20th edition of Dances With Films included 16 features. In total, the festival screened 193 films, and all are eligible for the Industry Choice award.
