In a very close race- Sule Gedo of Kenya ran with the lead pack of the women’s field throughout most of the race, pulling ahead in the final mile to finish first in a time of 2:33:49, and edged out by 8 seconds TSEHAY DESALEGN, and The 2017 Champion HELLEN JEPKURGAT (4 seconds behind TSEHAY), to win The Women’s division of the The LA Marathon’s iconic “Stadium to the Sea” course. The 1st. American from HENDERSON, NV was CHRISTINA VERGARA-ALESHIRE , who came in 4th place in The Women’s division- only 35 seconds behind the winner- Sule.
