Christopher Nolan’s sweeping epic about J. Robert Oppenheimer — the American physicist credited with being the “father of the atomic bomb” dominated the night! Robert Downey Jr. won the first Academy Award in his 40-plus-year career, nabbing the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his role as Lewis Strauss in Oppenheimer. All of us watching during this Oscar viewing dinner loved it:Poor Things star Emma Stone — won the Oscar for Best Actress, and tears were in her eyes when she gave her emotional acceptance speech: and thanked the former Best Actress recipients who introduced her: Michelle Yeoh, Sally Field, Jennifer Lawrence, Charlize Theron and Jessica Lange.
Ryan Gosling’s Oscar-nominated Barbie song didn’t win — the trophy went to the other Oscar-nominated Barbie song (“What Was I Made For?” by Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell) — but his live performance brought the house down at the Dolby Theatre! He wore a pink suit and gloves in what appeared to be an homage to the 1953 Marilyn Monroe classic Gentleman Prefer Blondes. And an army of other Kens joined Gosling, as did Barbie director Greta Gerwig, co-stars America Ferrera and Margot Robbie — and even Rock Legend Slash! Robert Downey Jr., Christopher Nolan, and Cillian Murphy all won their first-ever Oscar, Poor Things took home four awards, including Emma Stone’s second win for Best Actress. It had great Musical Performances, at Mr. C’s Boutique Hotel in Beverly Hills, with an amazing breathtaking 360-degree view of Beverly Hills and all of Los Angeles, that the VIP guests took advantage of to take photos on the balcony, and see a beautiful sunset:
This spectacular Oscar Viewing Dinner Gala that was put on by the incredible Charmaine Blake was held on Oscar Night: Sunday March 10th, 2024, starting at 3PM with the red carpet, then The Star-studded Annual Charmaine Blake OSCAR VIEWING DINNER & GIFTING SUITE, with TV & FILM STARS INCLUDING OSCAR WINNERS & NOMINEES, and a Fashion show and Live performances! This event was an elegant and decadent black-tie affair that was attended by several Hollywood luminaries who have graced the silver screen and enhanced the artistic excellence of film history. The theme of the black-tie affair was old Hollywood glam.
